New Adjuster Legislation for Washington State
Washington State has adjuster legislation which has been recently signed by the Governor. This legislation, which will become effective June 7, 2012, allows adjusters to designate a home state and eliminates the submission of fingerprints for non-resident adjusters. To review the changes to the adjuster laws as adopted, please review Sections 4 and 12 of HB 2523: http://apps.leg.wa.gov/billinfo/summary.aspx?bill=2523&year=2011.
No Oregon Producer Licenses will be Processed April 26 – May 7
From the Oregon Insurance Division.
No Oregon Producer Licenses Processed April 26-May 7. The Oregon Insurance Division will begin using the NAIC’s State Based Systems (SBS) as our internal operating system on May 7, 2012. To implement this new system, we will not be able to process ANY license applications or renewal transactions from 10 a.m. PDT on Thursday, April 26 until Monday,
May 7. Licensing staff will be available to answer questions but will not be able to access any license information during this period. If a license expires on April 30, it is strongly recommended that the renewal information be submitted well in advance of April 26. Any renewal applications that are submitted prior to the expiration date but while we are offline will be considered timely, but will not be processed until after May 7.
Normal processing for limited areas is expected to resume on May 7. Transactions submitted through NIPR will be processed on May 14, when our system has been fully converted. Applications that are submitted during the down time will be processed normally once the conversion to SBS is completed.
How to Make the Most of Your Sponsorship Budget
Let us help contact your key customers
If you have a closed customer, CEU Institute is seen as an unbiased vendor. We are happy to call to schedule a program on your behalf!
Choose courses that are in the morning or afternoon.
Choosing morning and afternoon programs alleviates food costs in addition to your CE administration fees.
If you are setting up a course yourself, let us “steer” the customer on their true state CE needs.
Most customers need help in understanding resident vs. non-resident needs and reciprocity, but these extra states drive up costs. Let us help determine what is truly needed and apply for credit in only those states.
Co-sponsoring is a wonderful way to split your costs in half….half of the CE invoice and half of your catering.
We know with offering multiple services, co-sponsoring can be tricky. Please let us know who you are comfortable with co-sponsoring and we’ll invite them on your behalf.
When we offer Sponsorship Opportunities, the insurance customer has decided they would like to offset their CE costs by inviting a vendor to introduce their services. Sponsoring entitles you to:
- Introducing your services and program- typically 5mins per sponsor (50 minutes per hour must be spent in unbiased CE training.
- We always recommend that you introduce yourself by phone to the onsite rep and immediately when you get there so that they tell you when “you are up”!
- Handing out literature and marketing information/tools for nurses/adjusters to utilize your services
